Celerant Brings Real-Time Advantage To Popular Outdoors Outfitters
Popular Outdoor Outfitters updates
their current legacy system
Staten Island, NY--August 24, 2004-Popular Outdoor Outfitters
has selected Celerant Technology to provide them with a new and
improved real-time system, which will offer a practical and cost
effective way to maintain real-time tracking of their inventory.
Since 1952 Popular Outdoor Outfitters has been a reputable seller
of camping equipment, apparel, and outdoor footwear. They currently
operate 14 stores throughout Arizona. The annual maintenance to
continue to run their legacy system was a hindrance, which they
wanted to overcome. With Celerant's real-time Retail Management
System (RMS), Popular Outdoor Outfitters will have the ability
to check their sales throughout the day rather than once per night,
as was the case with the legacy system they were on for the past
16 years.
According to IT Manager Jim Gatenby, Popular Outdoor Outfitters
chose Celerant for a variety of reasons, "We hope to gain in many
areas by; substantially reducing the cost of our software maintenance,
increasing the productivity of our back office and store staff,
cutting checkout times at the POS by more then half, gaining an
edge in Loss Prevention by reducing the ability for fraudulent
transactions, and integrating our website with a live inventory
count, in preparation for a larger web presence."
