means that Java-based application servers control the flow of information throughout
the enterprise - live at the moment each transaction takes place.
Designed and written by Celerant, the application servers route the activity
that's taking place in each location to the central data repository, immediately.
This eliminates the need for an error-prone daily synchronization. Every location
in the organization now has access to the same set of data - data which is always
accurate and up-to-date.
Scalable and Reliable
Celerant Command Retail POS, point of sale, software flexible
and reliable point of sale system. Application servers may be configured in
a nearly infinite number of ways. Depending upon the estimated transaction throughput
of a retailer, application servers can be strategically located at various points
throughout the company to route activity. Multiple application servers can be
used to form a fail-safe array of processing centers, shielding companies from
an occasional, unexpected loss of telecommunications service. Celerant workstation
software, a Windows based front-end application that includes both back-office
and POS functionality, will automatically fail over to redundant application
servers without disrupting the workflow of the user.
