Our Mission
At Celerant, our mission is to offer superior,
high quality products and services that will keep our client's several
steps ahead of their competition. We will continuously provide control
and structure to retail businesses using advanced, cutting edge
technology.
We understand the unique challenges and demands retailers face
each day. As a result, our in-house programming team has created
an advanced retail management system which exceeds these needs.
The fact that our software is developed in-house, allows us to
specifically focus on each individual retail business. Our extensive,
customizable software provides retailers with sophisticated tools
to manage every area of their business operation as efficiently
as possible.
Our Company
Celerant Technology, a privately held Corporation, develops in-house
and provides high quality, advanced retail management software
systems to retail organizations. Ian Goldman, CEO, comes from
a retail management software background and founded Celerant Technology
to build an entirely new type of retail system from the ground-up.
The software that resulted uses Java technology to solve data
integration issues with a real-time, integrated POS system.
Our approach is individually focused rather than mass-produced.
In addition to traditional planning, implementation, training
and support services, Celerant provides a range of customized
services designed to serve the more complex retail enterprises.
These services include custom development, integration with ERP
and legacy systems, and integration with alternative points of
presence.
Celerant Technology's main headquarters are located in Staten
Island, New York. We have satellite offices in Atlanta, Georgia
and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As our business continues to grow,
we are planning on expanding our presence to additional locations
as well.
The Growth of Celerant
Take a look at our software evolution:
In 1991, Ian Goldman
releases customizable DOS based POS and Inventory System.
In 1994-5, Ian Goldman,
CEO of Celerant was one of the first retail software innovators to offer Windows
compatible software; furthermore it was designed with a user friendly touch
screen interface that significantly increased staff training time and register
throughput.
In 1998 Celerant launches
its EAS (enterprise application server). It is the first use of Java middleware
application in the retail software industry and offers another first for retail
software venders: real-time transaction processing, instead of polling, to retailers.
In 2001, when most retailers
are still worrying about their customers waiting in line, Celerant partners
with Paymentech to introduce 2 second credit card processing offering, Quick
Charge. 2001 also was the year we introduced our integrated
full-featured, 5-dimensional, allocation-based warehouse/distribution center
system. Like the rest of Celerant Command Retail system, distribution center
data is kept in real-time allowing the rest of the enterprise to know what is
in stock at all times.
At the National Retail Federation Show
in January 2002, Celerant unveils a full featured, handheld
wireless sale and inventory tool using the Symbol SPT 1700 Handheld Scanner
with the Palm operating system. Celerant's embedded gift and stored value card
solution also in debuted in January 2002 and did not require
any third party involvement or the fees associated with them. Mid 2002
Celerant introduces advanced reporting tools with data mining, data warehousing
and some functional advancements in automated merchandise warehouse management.
Celerant also announces biometric recognition capabilities.
Early 2003 was spent
focusing on enhancing our existing e-commerce solution through enabling a tighter
linkage between the production database and the web customer to increase the
retailers ability to market limited quantities of product online. Mid
2003 Celerant is the first, and still the only, retail software company
to integrate with UPS Online Tools. Celerant debuts the first and only 100%
Java retail management system to its clients. Gift cards start to become mainstream
in retail at this point, and Celerant clients have the advantage with their
no-fee SVCs.
2004 Celerant has its
first User Conference. In keeping with our roots, we offer the future of our
product to our clients and listened to what they had to say about retailing.
Several ideas come out of these sessions and are incorporated actively into
our newest version due for public release in 2005.
2005 Celerant officially
introduces its 100% Java solution, Command to the market along with a more extensive
reporting and data-mining feature, Data Focus.
2006 Celerant offers
completely live wireless applications for physical inventory, purchase orders
and receiving, transfers, warehouse functions, and more.
2007
Celerant Technology Corp. releases the development of their franchise
model, and Open-to-Buy integration. With integrated open-to-buy, easily plan
business across the chain, or down to location with interactive "what-if"
scenarios.
At the National
Retail Federation (NRF) Show in Janaury 2008, Celerant Technology
Corp., released RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) for POS.Following the
show, Celerant launched CommandRetail.com, a product-specific
site with a more detailed, technical explanation of the complete retail POS
and back-office system. Also, in 2008, Celerant offers a flexible
and scalable catalog and mail order module, built within their Command Retail
software, allowing seamless multi-channel integration.
