Park City Gun Club Switched to Digital Waiver Integrated with Point of Sale and Range
Switching to Utilize Stored Digital Waivers
When we decided to switch from a paper waiver to an electronic or automated waiver system, we did it for storage purposes and the ease of looking up content and finding someone’s waiver.
There were many good waiver companies out there. However, none of them had any integration into our point-of-sale system, so we were operating another electronic system that took more time to verify everyone’s range waivers.
Growing Pains and Switching Point of Sale Providers
When we first opened in 2012, we signed up with Celerant. We used their system; we liked it.
Basically, we went looking for something else, thinking the grass was greener out there. For a couple of years, we used some competitors.
At that point, we realized that Celerant gave us the most data and control over our inventory and club assets.
Shooting Range and Gun Store Point of Sale System
We love that Celerant is a shooting sport, gun range-based software. They have range management that allows us to track our rental fleet, range usage, and data that is critical to capture.
What we like about Celerant Technology and its point of sale system is the amount of control and the number of options we have regarding our inventory management.
Setting up minimum/maximum on our order quantities and tracking sales over long or short periods helps us be sure to put our retail dollars in the right spot.
Using Otter Waiver and Stored Digital Waivers
None of the other point of sale providers were built for a firearms-based industry business. They didn’t have the serial number tracking and different features we were looking for to keep tabs on our inventory.
One of the big things we are looking to do over the coming years, and one of the reasons we sought out Otter Waiver, was to have all of our customer data in one section.
That way, we could put together email and text campaigns for our existing members here at the range and reach out to shooters who may only visit us once or twice a year.
Point of Sale Integrations for Data and Cloud Storage
With electronic waivers, the fact that they integrate into our point of sale system rather than happen to log into a second system every time a customer comes in, right from the Celerant point of sale screen, we can click on a customer and see that they have a signed waiver on file.
Cutting Check-in from 30 Minutes to only 2 Minutes
With our previous waiver system, it could take us up to 30 minutes to get a group checked in.
With Otter Waiver and their QR codes, we can get a large group checked in in a matter of two or three minutes versus 30.
We’re protecting the club and our customers both at the same time.
