We started as a family-run business 42 years ago.
My dad and mom were the only two employees. You know, it was a little bitty small shop. We’re over 80,000 square feet of retail space. We’re over 80 employees.
Our employees are like family. We really try to give it a family atmosphere. We want to give you that hometown, you know, small store feel.

Being a family-owned business, we obviously have a disadvantage from huge corporations.
You know, we’re just one location. I think what we do differently or try to do differently is customer service aspect of it.
We have a big draw from three or four hours away people come in.
Pushing Old Retail Technology to Its Breaking Point
But, in order to survive, we have to do eCommerce and so that’s been a big push for us.
We’ve had this old system we were running forever. And we kind of get used to it and we were comfortable with it, but we had outgrown especially with the eCommerce side.
It just couldn’t keep up. We were pushing it beyond its limits, what it was meant to do.

With the old system, there wasn’t really good reporting. We didn’t know who was buying what.
The integration just to push it all into my accounting software, you know, that was all manual. So with Celerant, it does it automatically.
So you have a lot less human error. Tracking firearms in real time with FastBound is way better for us. We can tell when somebody’s got one on a 4473.
We can tell that it’s on the way up to the front desk. It’s just really, really helpful for us to have a full view of what’s happening with our firearms inventory in real time.
Better Visibility into All Retail Sales Channels
With Celerant, it splits my eCommerce up into different stores.
So whether I’m selling in the store, on my website, on Amazon, eBay, wherever I’m selling, it can tell you who’s buying what and that switches the way I’m buying or what I’m buying based on where the customer is in the country and what they’re interested in and the items that they are purchasing.
And when you’re a smaller store, especially like us, we want to do the most we can, the most efficient we can. And I think Celerant allows us to do all of those things and more.
